A changed heart
The quick story
St. Paul once hurt Christians. On the road to Damascus, a bright light shone around him and Jesus spoke to him. Paul's life changed. Ananias baptized him, and Paul began telling people about Jesus.
He travelled, taught, and wrote letters to help Christians grow in faith. Even when life was hard, he kept serving Christ. The Coptic Church honours Paul as an apostle and a martyr.

PART 1
Before he followed Jesus
Paul, also called Saul, had opposed Christians. He set out for Damascus intending to arrest believers. Then his journey took a direction he had never expected.
PART 2
Meeting Christ on the road
A heavenly light shone around Paul, and Jesus spoke to him. Paul went on to Damascus, where Ananias baptized him. He began proclaiming the faith he had once attacked.
This was a change of direction for his whole life: he would now serve Christ.
PART 3
Journeys that helped the Church grow
Paul served with other Christians, including Barnabas. He made several missionary journeys, bringing the message of Jesus to new places.
His travels included difficulties and imprisonment. The Church grew as people heard the Gospel, believed and learned to live together in Christ.
PART 4
Letters and a lasting witness
Paul wrote letters to teach and encourage the churches. Christians still hear his letters read in worship today. The Synaxarium remembers his ministry in Rome and his martyrdom under Nero. His life shows the deep change that following Christ can bring.
