Church Seating Expansion – COR

““O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own.” (1 Chronicles 29:16).
Church Seating Expansion + Relocate the Church Nave and Sanctuary to the basketball and soccer turf area (the children’s gym) to increase our seating capacity from 195 seats to 350 seats with the potential to increase the capacity to 800 seats. The basketball court and soccer turf will be relocated to the gymnastics area in the warehouse. These minimal changes will ensure the least interruption to our Church and children activities in the meantime. + Expand the cafeteria into the existing Church Nave to double the cafeteria space. This space will serve as a multi-purpose area (Church overflow, children’s respite area, and cafeteria overflow). + Install three large glass doors (8 feet by 8 feet) and glass windows between the cafeteria and Church Nave to allow for viewing into the Church from the rear. Benefits + The kitchen, cafeteria, and washrooms would remain in their current locations. + Church and children’s activities will continue with the least interruption during the alterations. + Cafeteria seating would expand while allowing continued visibility into the Church through the glass windows and glass doors from the rear. + The Church Nave and cafeteria would be set alongside the windows that face Brunel Road allowing us to enjoy the southern sun and natural lighting. + The Sanctuary space will increase and the Deacons’ platform will have more seats.
